Controllers today were playing catch-up at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where a 30-minute radio outage at both of the airport's control towers this morning stopped departures and disrupted arrivals at the nation's third-busiest airport.

A late-morning American Eagle flight from Shreveport Regional Airport to DFW was canceled. Passengers will be put on the next available flight, airport spokesman Bill Cooksey said.

American Eagle is the only airline that flies directly from Shreveport to DFW.

DFW spokesman Ken Capps said this morning that the problems had repaired at the airport's east and west side towers, but residual flight delays of 30 minutes to an hour are expected.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the outage affected both incoming and outgoing flights.
